Market Harborough & District U3A
Market Harborough & District University of the Third Age

Welcome to the Market Harborough U3A Website

MHU3A is part of the National U3A Organisation. Our friendly group provides a broad mix of social and educational opportunities for those no longer in full time employment.

Please look around our site to find out more about us and see for yourself the range of interest groups and activities we can offer.

Benefits of Membership

Membership of MHU3A provides the opportunity to further existing interests, discover new ones and, most importantly, to make new friends.

Alongside our regular activities, there are also outings and holidays throughout the year that are available to all members.

Monthly general meetings, with guest speakers on a variety of topics, provide an opportunity to catch up with others, find out what’s happening, enjoy a coffee or tea, and pick up the latest Monthly Newsletter (copies are also available at the Library, Cafe Nero, Blends and Quinn’s bookshop).

Members automatically belong to the national Third Age Trust, which entitles members to receive various discounts and other benefits, plus the Third Age Matters magazine.

Join us. And join in.

Building from Basics" - improve your Spanish

A new group led by Liz (Watkin), an English teacher who lived in Barcelona for nearly 19 years, can be created to start in October. We need you to register your interest for this to proceed. A volunteer to be a joint leader would be very helpful to offer backup.  Although the time and venue have yet to be finally agreed, Wednesday or Thursday in the last week of the month are proposed. Contact Liz on lizziewatkin@yahoo.co.uk to register your interest.

Forensic Psychology: Witness Investigation

The MOOC (massive open online course) group has so far followed courses on the First World War and Richard III. This is another MOOC from FutureLearn. It's free, an eight-week course requiring about three hours a week. See the FutureLearn website for details and to sign up click here. The course starts on 4 September.
